Ontario is investing $41.5 million through the Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program and the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program to help more young people develop the skills needed for rewarding careers in the skilled trades. These investments will provide hands-on training, work experience, and clear pathways into in-demand occupations that are critical to Ontario’s future growth.
Ontario is also investing $1.7 billion to fund more than 70,000 additional postsecondary seats in high-demand fields, including health care, skilled trades, STEM, and education. These investments are helping students access the training and education they need to succeed in a rapidly changing economy.
As students return to school this year, Ontario is continuing to make record investments in education, including $30.6 billion in Core Education Funding and the opening of 35 new and expanded schools this fall. Together, these investments are helping prepare the next generation for successful careers while supporting strong communities and a skilled workforce across the province.
