Our government is investing nearly $16 million through the Ontario Transit Investment Fund (OTIF) to help small, remote, and underserved communities build safe and reliable transit services. This investment will support five projects benefiting 30 communities across Ontario, improving access to jobs, services, and economic opportunities.
As part of Ontario’s historic $70 billion transit plan, this funding will help municipalities, Indigenous communities, and non-profit organizations expand and improve local transit options, particularly in rural and northern regions. It also builds on our government’s decision to double annual OTIF funding and restore the Northlander passenger rail service.
By investing in transportation infrastructure that keeps people moving, we are strengthening local economies, creating opportunities for growth, and ensuring communities across Ontario remain connected now and into the future.
