As we mark September 11, we remember the lives lost and honour the Ontario first responders who assisted in the recovery efforts following the tragedy. We also recognize the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and public safety personnel who put themselves on the front lines every day to protect our communities.
Ontario continues to support first responders through investments in life-saving equipment, cancer prevention initiatives, training, and mental health resources. This includes more than $50 million through the Fire Protection Grant and $32.5 million through the Mental Health Supports for Public Safety Personnel Program, helping ensure frontline workers have access to the tools and supports they need.
Whether responding to emergencies, protecting public safety, or helping communities during times of crisis, first responders are there when they are needed most. These investments reflect Ontario’s commitment to supporting those who dedicate their careers to keeping our communities safe.
