Ontario’s agri-food sector plays a critical role in supporting workers, businesses, and communities across the province. Since 2018, Ontario has attracted more than $5 billion in food and beverage manufacturing investments, helping create over 22,000 good-paying jobs and strengthening the province’s food supply chain.
Ontario’s food and beverage manufacturing sector is an economic powerhouse, supporting more than 126,000 jobs and contributing over $13.6 billion in GDP to the provincial economy every year. The broader agri-food sector contributes more than $53 billion annually, helping drive economic growth in communities across Ontario.
By supporting farmers, food processors, and agri-food businesses, Ontario is building a stronger, more secure, and more self-reliant agri-food sector that can continue to create jobs, attract investment, and keep more food grown and made right here at home.
