Protecting Local Jobs from U.S. Tariffs

Our government is investing more than $1.1 million to help protect workers and strengthen economic resilience in the Waterloo Region in the face of U.S. tariffs and global economic uncertainty.

This investment builds on Ontario’s $30 billion plan to support workers and businesses, including the Ontario Together Trade Fund (OTTF), a $150 million program that helps companies expand, diversify export markets, and strengthen critical supply chains here in Ontario. The province has also invested through the $40 million Trade-Impacted Communities Program (TICP) to help communities respond to economic disruptions and attract new opportunities.

To date, the Ontario Together Trade Fund has supported 89 companies that have invested nearly $1 billion in Ontario, helping to protect and create more than 10,000 jobs across the province. Our government will continue to stand up for workers, support businesses, and build a stronger, more resilient economy.
