Ontario’s $30 Billion Plan to Build More Schools

Ontario is continuing to invest in modern learning environments for students through its $30 billion, 10-year plan to build, expand, and renew schools across the province. This fall, 18,300 new student spaces and 1,130 licensed child care spaces will open in growing communities, helping ensure students have access to the classrooms and resources they need to succeed.

Since 2018, Ontario has supported 209 new schools, 161 additions and renovations, more than 150,000 student spaces, and over 11,000 licensed child care spaces. These investments are helping accommodate growing communities while creating modern learning environments for students and teachers.

Combined with a record $30.6 billion investment in education, Ontario is strengthening schools, supporting student achievement, and ensuring students are prepared for success in the classroom and in future careers.
