Ontario continues to lead the country in job creation, with businesses across the province creating 52,000 new jobs last month. This accounted for nearly 70 per cent of all jobs added across Canada and brings Ontario’s total job growth to 119,000 new jobs over the last four months.
Our government’s plan to protect Ontario jobs is delivering results by lowering costs, reducing taxes, and creating the conditions for businesses to invest and grow. Over the past year, Ontario has accounted for more than half of all jobs created across Canada, while continuing to attract investment despite ongoing global economic uncertainty.
We know small businesses are the backbone of our economy. That is why we reduced the small business tax rate from 3.2 per cent to 2.2 per cent, providing $1.1 billion in savings and up to $5,000 in annual tax relief for more than 375,000 small businesses. As we face challenges such as U.S. tariffs, our government will continue to support workers, attract investment, and create good-paying jobs across Ontario.
