Ontario is helping keep transportation costs down for commuters by permanently cutting the gas tax, removing tolls from Highway 407 East, banning new tolls on provincial highways, and delivering One Fare for transit riders. These measures are putting more money back into the pockets of Ontario workers and families while making it more affordable to get to work, school, and other daily destinations.
For drivers, the province’s gas tax cuts and toll-free highways are helping reduce commuting costs, with daily Highway 407 East users saving up to $7,200 annually. For transit riders, One Fare eliminates double fares when transferring between local transit systems and GO Transit, saving regular commuters up to $1,600 each year.
By lowering transportation costs and expanding affordable travel options, Ontario is helping families save money while keeping people and goods moving across the province.
