Keeping Workers on the Job Through Our $70 Billion Plan to Build Transit Infrastructure

Our government is investing nearly $70 billion in the largest transit expansion in North America to keep people moving, fight gridlock, and support economic growth. A major milestone in that plan has been reached with the completion of tunnelling for the Eglinton Crosstown West Extension, bringing the project one step closer to connecting communities across the GTA.

The Eglinton Crosstown West Extension is supporting 4,600 good-paying jobs each year during construction and will create a continuous rapid transit line from Scarborough to Mississauga. Once complete, it will connect nearly 70,000 daily riders to jobs, housing, and opportunities while making travel faster and more reliable.

By investing in major infrastructure projects, our government is creating jobs, reducing congestion, and building a stronger and more resilient economy for generations to come.
