Investing to Train Workers for Good-Paying Jobs

This Labour Day, we recognize the millions of workers across Ontario whose hard work, skill, and dedication help build our communities and keep the province moving. As economic uncertainty continues to impact industries and workers, Ontario is investing in training, apprenticeship, and employment programs that help people access rewarding, in-demand careers.

Through initiatives such as Skills Advance Ontario, the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program, and the Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program, Ontario is expanding pathways into the skilled trades and helping workers develop the skills needed for today’s and tomorrow’s jobs. Additional support is also available through Protect Ontario Workers Employment Response (POWER) Centres, which connect workers with training, employment services, and career supports.

By investing in workers at every stage of their careers, Ontario is building a highly skilled workforce, creating new opportunities for future generations, and strengthening the province’s economy for years to come.
