Ontario is strengthening its position as a global leader in life sciences and biomanufacturing with the official opening of Sanofi’s $925 million vaccine manufacturing facility in North York. The investment marks a major milestone for Ontario’s growing life sciences sector and will help enhance domestic biomanufacturing capacity while creating high-value jobs and supporting long-term economic growth.
Since 2018, Ontario has attracted more than $6 billion in life sciences investments, building on the province’s strengths in research, innovation, advanced manufacturing, and a highly skilled workforce. Today, Ontario’s life sciences sector employs nearly 76,000 people across more than 2,000 companies, generating over $14 billion in annual exports.
By attracting world-class investments and supporting Made-in-Ontario innovation, Ontario is continuing to create good-paying jobs, strengthen supply chains, and reinforce its role as a global hub for health sciences and biomanufacturing.
