Ontario is taking historic action to strengthen the health care workforce by leading the largest expansion of medical education in more than a decade. By adding 340 undergraduate medical school seats and 551 postgraduate residency positions, the province is significantly increasing the number of future doctors being trained, including a 67 per cent increase in family medicine learners.
