$6.4 Billion Plan to Build Long-Term Care Homes

Ontario is continuing to expand access to high-quality long-term care with the opening of the Village of Ridgeview Court in Milton. The new home represents another important step in Ontario’s plan to build modern, safe, and comfortable long-term care spaces that help seniors receive the care they need closer to family and community.

Backed by a $6.4 billion investment, Ontario is making progress toward building 58,000 new and upgraded long-term care spaces across the province. As of July 2026, 156 projects representing more than 26,400 new and redeveloped spaces have been completed, are under construction, or have received approval to begin construction.

These investments are helping strengthen long-term care across Ontario by expanding capacity, improving quality of care, and ensuring seniors have access to modern homes and the support they deserve.
